Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are important to us in Services For Seniors! Whether helping in a recreation program such as assisting seniors to attend a concert or a play; or visiting with residents and clients, volunteers bring sunshine, laughter.

Did you know, we do income taxs!

The Income Tax Preparation Program is offered free to low-income residents of Shelburne County. Through The Canada Revenue Agency Community Volunteer Income Tax Program Partnership and Co-operation, our volunteers received training.

Senior Safety Support

The Senior Safety Cooridnator will obtain referrals from the RCMP as appropriate, to enable one on one visits with seniors.  Safety issues that will be discussed with seniors in the privacy of their homes will include security, offer options for health care.

The program is designed to help our seniors stay safe,  improve their quality of life, maintain their independence, promote living at home or within the community, and enhance community participation through volunteerism.

Senior Services was created in April of 2010, in partnership with Nova Scotia Department of Health and the five Shelburne County municipal units.
